Tareq Bashir joined Fawry after accumulating 22 years of field experience in software engineering and self-service banking channels technology.

He joined Fawry 14 years ago serving first as Chief Technology Officer leveraging on his diversified expertise in information technology, software management, process dynamics and quality assurance. Tareq has also led a sequence of key roles during his tenure at Fawry. While currently serving as Chief Knowledge Officer, he had also served as Chief Technology Officer and as Chief Information and Processes Officer heading the decision support division.

Previously, Tareq Bashir was the Technology VP at Samba Financial Group (ex-Citibank), KSA for 18 years. His responsibilities included: ATM, POS, Cards, IVR, Internet Banking, and MIS. He was also responsible for establishing the first Project Portfolio Management department in KSA, aligning business and technology of 400 million USD in annual investments. Tareq was then appointed as the bank’s Offshore Technology PMO Head, where he was responsible of overseeing projects across three different countries.

Tareq Bashir holds a Masters Degree in Engineering from Alexandria University.
